Smolinska Mine

Smolinska Mine, located in the urban-type settlement of Smoline. The mine extracted uranium ores from the Vatutinske deposit using underground methods. Today, mining operations at Smolinska Mine have been suspended. Open-pit mining operations for sand extraction are ongoing.

Significant Dates

1966  – Vatutinske uranium ore deposit opened1972  – Ore management office No. 3 established (now Smolinska Mine)1975 – First tons of ore mined1984  – Mine No. 1 of the Smolinsk ore field reached the design capacity.1986 – RU-3 has been renamed to Smolino Ore Administration.1997 – on the basis of the Smolino Ore Administration, the Smolino Mine has been established.
