Hydrometallurgical Plant
HMP is the final link in the chain of the enterprise’s main productions. Its main product – uranium oxide concentrate – is a raw material for the fabrication of nuclear fuel for Ukraine’s nuclear power plants. High product quality is ensured by the use of rational and unique technologies and meets global standards.

Hydrometallurgical Plant (HMP)
Located in the northern part of the city of Zhovti Vody. The plant is equipped with machinery, an automated system for managing technological processes, which correspond to the world level. The structure of GMZ includes:– sulfuric acid,
– railway,
– repair and mechanical shops.
The structure of GMZ includes:

Sulfuric acid shop
fully provides uranium production with the main reagent and supplies high-quality sulfuric acid to domestic metallurgical and chemical industries.
The railway shop provides
delivery of ore from the company’s mines, participates in the transportation of finished products and sulfuric acid.

Repair and mechanical shop
ensures the current operations of mines and GMZ: carries out major repairs of mining equipment, installation and repair of metal structures, electric motors, non-standard equipment, manufactures spare parts and drilling tools, performs casting of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
History of creation
1954 – construction of GMZ started in 1955 – the enterprise’s repair and mechanical base complex was commissioned1958 – commissioning and adjustment work at GMZ was successfully carried out1959 – the first kilograms of UOK were received1960 – A Central Research Laboratory has been established on the basis of the plant’s Central Laboratory of Chemical Analysis (CLC)1976 – Reconstruction of the GMZ has been completed, and the plant’s capacity has been doubled1984 – The first phase of the sulfuric acid plant (SAP) has been put into operation1987 – The second phase of the SAP has been put into operation2007 – The wagon tippler has been replaced
