“Eastern Mining and Processing Plant”

SE “SkhidGZK” was established in 1951.
The first ore was extracted by the “Nova” mine of the plant in 1956, and the first kilogram of uranium concentrate was obtained in 1959.

The Eastern Mining and Processing Plant is one of the 28 uranium mining centers in the world, among which it ranks in the top ten, and it is also the largest in Europe.

The Eastern Mining and Processing Plant is the only enterprise in Ukraine that provides the extraction of natural uranium and the production
of its oxide concentrate.

The two operating uranium mines of the plant, in terms of their energy equivalent, are equal to 60 coal mines, in other words, one-third of the entire Donbas.

The plant is geographically located in two regions:
In the Dnipropetrovsk and Kirovohrad regions, the central office is located in the city of Zhovti Vody, Dnipropetrovsk region.

The main product of the plant is natural uranium concentrate.

SkhidGZK also produces sulfuric acid, mining and underground equipment. The plant provides transportation services (road and rail), repair and construction, research and design developments, communication services, and more.

The strategic goal of SkhidGZK is 100% supply of Ukrainian nuclear power plants with uranium in order to achieve Ukraine’s energy independence.
